Sourcing

Understanding that quick profits come with detrimental consequences to humanity and the environment, we are committed to diligently vet our raw material suppliers. All our glass comes from zignago vetro, an ethical italian company who has been at the helm of sustainable innovation since the 1950’s. Zignago vetro confirms that 46.5% of our glass is made of recycled material. This approach saves energy, reduces waste, and lowers co2 emissions. Our caps, pumps, roll-ons, and packaging are made either in Italy or the United States. Not a single element of our products is made in sweatshops.

UP TO 95% NATURAL ORIGIN

Celestine’s commitment to bee preservation is displayed in the Maison’s refusal to cut corners when it comes to sourcing. Our fragrance line is made of ingredients containing up to 95% natural origin. Our delicate essential oils and spices are sourced in accordance with the ISO 16128, calculation including aqua. Majority of our ingredients are directly purchased from small scale North African, and Italian farmers who have been great stewards of their beloved lands for generations.

TIPS

JUST SPRAY-DO NOT RUB

The unconscious application habit of misting a little fragrance on your wrists and then pressing them together before reaching for your neck area is taboo says CELÈSTINE house Legendary Master Perfumer Vito Giovani. The rubbing not only alters the olfactive pyramid of the fragrance, but it heats up the skin, producing natural enzymes that change the natural course of the scent. This interference impacts top and middle notes the most, not sparing the dry-down also known as the last and longest period of your fragrance’s unfolding.CURE  To both preserve your fragrance’s integrity, and maximize its durability on your skin, simply spritz both wrists before proceeding to the neck, and let the liquid sink in. Resist the temptation to rub at every cost. STORAGE Fine Fragrance is like a living organism, extremely sensitive to environmental fluctuations and odors. As an organism, Parfum hates oscillating from hot to cold and vice versa. Simply temperature shifts “set off unexpected chemical reactions within the natural ingredients aging the fragrance faster.”For instance, do not leave citrus scents in steamy bathrooms, this affects the freshness and can make raw materials like patchouli smell quite a bit off. Likewise, ultraviolet rays have been discovered to alter a perfume’s color i.e., Turning amber tones into greens. If possible, leave the fragrance in its original box. In the unlikely event that it takes you longer to go through your fragrance, we advise you seal it properly and store it in the refrigerator (not the freeze). QUALITY NOT QUANTITY The best fragrance comes in small quantities or small packages. Perfume should be consumed at a brisk pace, buying huge bottles allows for oxygen (perfume’s worst enemy) to slowly break down the scent’s molecules, altering its composition and quality. For this very reason, the Maison CELÈSTINE promises to maintain our vessels at a maximum capacity of 30 ML or 1 lb. We put everything in the fragrance, and almost nothing in the packaging. We let our oils sit and age naturally verses loading them with color.

UTILIZE MOIST SKIN OR HAIR

Perfume doesn’t last long on dry skin. Master Perfumer Lenoci suggests wearing an unscented body lotion or moisturizer before perfume application, this will help prevent any olfactive interference. Try to avoid applying perfume under clothing, target areas exposed to the air instead. Pulse points like the neck, wrists, and inner elbows if you’re wearing a sleeveless shirt are preferable instead. The only exception to this rule is if you’re in an intensely hot climate, then its best to mist perfume on clothes, hair, scarf, sarong. Because they move with the air, it helps with scent diffusion, and you’ll leave a lasting impression.
